Topaz
Topaz is an AI budgeting app that turns a few chat answers into a working monthly budget, and lets you log spending by describing it. This page covers what we collect, the terms of using the app, and how to reach us.

What Topaz collects, why, and how you stay in control of it.

Your setup answers and the expenses you type or describe are sent to an AI provider to be turned into a structured amount, description and category. That is how "$15 on coffee" becomes a logged expense in the right place. It goes through a server we control, and the AI provider is sent only what that one task needs — never your account credentials.
Receipt scanning is a Premium feature, and it works by sending an image, so it deserves to be spelled out rather than folded into the paragraph above.
If you subscribe to Premium, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. Your card details go to them and never reach us: we never see, hold or store a card number. What we receive back is the email address used at checkout, whether the subscription is active, and when the paid period ends — which is what tells the app you have Premium.
We do not run ads. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app. We do not sell your data to anyone, for any reason, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the providers listed here who are needed to make the app work.
Your data lives in a Supabase-hosted database, protected by row-level security so your account can only ever read or write its own rows. Our providers — hosting, AI reading, email delivery and payments — may process it outside your country.
We keep it for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it is removed, along with your profile, budget, expenses and history. There is no separate retention period we hold it for afterwards.
Topaz is not intended for children. You need to be at least 16 to use it, or the minimum age required in your country if that is higher. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if you believe a child has an account, email us and we will remove it.
You can take it with you, and you can delete it. Settings has a "Download everything" option that gives you your profile, budget and every expense as a JSON file, and an account deletion that permanently removes all of it. Neither needs a request to us.

Topaz helps you build and track a personal budget using AI. It is a planning and tracking tool, not financial, tax or investment advice. Decisions about your money are yours to make.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, and for keeping access to your email or Google account secure, since that is how Topaz confirms it is you.
Use Topaz for its intended purpose: tracking your own personal budget and expenses. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, reach another user's data, or use the app for anything unlawful.
Budgets, categorisations and suggestions Topaz produces are generated by AI and can be wrong. You can always correct a category or edit an amount, and you should review anything before relying on it.
Topaz is free to use, and manual expense tracking stays free with no limit. Premium is optional and adds receipt scanning and a much higher daily allowance for AI-assisted logging. The price and billing period are shown before you are charged, and any feature still described as coming soon is not part of what you pay for today.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep Premium until the period you have already paid for runs out — cancelling does not cut you off early. Where you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancellation and refunds are handled by them under their own terms.
We may update these terms or the app as Topaz develops. Meaningful changes will be reflected here, with the date above updated.
You can stop using Topaz and delete your account at any time from Settings, with no further obligation.
